Benefits of Zoom
The Covid-19 pandemic brought about many fundamental changes in how we live, work, and generally conduct business. Traditionally, mediation takes place in an office setting which may be as varied as a room with comfortable couches or a formal room with a conference table. While these traditional settings are still in use today, the use of on-line platforms is one of the most significant innovations in the ways we communicate with one another. The Zoom platform is used widely throughout the world and has many advantages.
- Zoom can accommodate parties who live in diverse communities and time zones. Scheduling a zoom meeting is not dependent on office hours. Participants need not travel, including driving and parking, to meet with one another.
- Zoom allows for general meeting where all participants are together and for opportunities where participants may speak privately through the mechanism of the electric “break-out” room.
- In some situations, the virtual space on the zoom platform is more comfortable for some parties than sharing the same physical space by being in the same room.
- Zoom enables participants to see the same item through the “share screen” function.
